Young Wendy Wendy was raised by the dragon Grandeeney for some time. However, one day Grandeeney suddenly disappeared and left Wendy alone at around the age of five. Some time later she ran into Mystogan, who called himself Jellal. Mystogan allowed her to travel with him for a month, although they were both hopelessly lost anyway. One day, she heard Mystogan utter something known as "Anima" and deemed it too dangerous for Wendy to travel with him further.[1] He left her in the care of a close guild, Cait Shelter, where she has been ever since.
Appearance
Wendy is a cute little girl with long, dark blue hair and brown eyes. Like all the Dragon Slayers, her canine teeth are a bit longer than other people's. Charle
Similar to Natsu and Happy, Charle is Wendy's companion and always are together since Charle's birth. Charle is very protective of Wendy, being her chaperon and not her pet. Charle believes that she was protecting Wendy from her "mission". When Wendy was captured in Edolas, Charle goes with Happy to save her and Wendy affirms she knew she will come to save them.
Natsu Dragneel
Wendy and Natsu are really good friends. Natsu was the reason of Wendy to accept being part of the Light Alliance, since Wendy hoped that Natsu will know about Grandeeney's whereabouts. Since Wendy is very young, Natsu seems to care of her like a little sister.
Mystogan
Wendy crying when Mystogan is about to leave her When Wendy was younger and had been abandoned by Grandeeney, Mystogan ran into her and he took care of her and traveled together for a month. Since in that time Mystogan knew little about Earthland, he made himself known as Jellal by Wendy. Wendy states that she really loved him. After feeling the presence of Anima, Mystogan left her in Cait Shelter. After reuniting seven years later, Wendy cries in joy and says she always wanted to meet him again. After returning from Edolas, Mest states he is Mystogan's former disciple (which is a lie) and Wendy accepts being his partner since she feels she wasn't able to pay Mystogan back.
Jellal Fernandes
Wendy is the one who revived Jellal after the Tower of Heaven incident, having mistaken him for Mystogan. Since Jellal lost his memory, he could not tell her mistake. After the Council Army arrives Jellal apologizes to Wendy for not being able to remember her, but Jellal was happy to think he saved someone in the past.
Wendy accepted being Mest's partner because he told her he is Mystogan's former disciple (which is a lie). During the Trial they lost during the first part of the exam and Wendy cries at not being able to help, but Mest tries to comfort her by suggesting to go to explore. Even after his position as a member of the Council is revealed, Wendy forgives him and asks him to help them.

Wendy's shy personality Wendy has a very shy and polite personality. She is always seen with her cat Charle, they have a very good relationship. She is very eager to try and make friends. Wendy also cares greatly for the guild members, and even suggested going to where the Exceed were to try and get them to evacuate. Wendy is becoming more confident and brave as time goes on, and she always tries to be of help wherever she can. She also is intelligent and has a very honest personality.[2]

Tower of Heaven arc
She is first mentioned in a conversation between the dragons Igneel and Grandeeney in which the latter says a more "friendly relationship" could be established the next time she and Natsu Dragneel meet.[3]
Wendy when she was first introduced as a member of Light Alliance Wendy is Cait Shelter's delegate sent to the alliance meeting of the Fairy Tail, Lamia Scale Guild, and Blue Pegasus Guild along with the cat Mage Charle; much to the shock of all there due to the fact that she is only a child.[4] She tells the delegates there that although she has no particular combat prowess she is able in support Magic.[5] Soon the alliance sets off to find Oración Seis after being briefed about them and quickly find their target (or moreover they find them after the Blue Pegasus' airship is destroyed).[6][7] Wendy quickly hides herself behind a rock and stays there for the duration of the battle as she watches the others get trounced by the Oración Seis.[8] Just as the Oración Seis's leader Brain is about to finish them off he spots Wendy and halts his attack, suddenly shaken at the sight of her. Wendy and Happy (who was grabbed by mistake) are then kidnapped by Brain seconds later.[9] Charle states that Wendy is the Dragon Slayer of the Sky and she can heal Erza Scarlet who had been poisoned by Cobra.[10] Wendy captured by Brain Later, Brain reveals her unique ability of healing to the others and has Racer bring a large coffin to her.[11] Brain plans to use her healing Magic to heal whatever was inside of that coffin but Wendy refused to help anyone that is "bad". The person in the coffin turned out to be no other than Jellal Fernandes, who knows the location of Nirvana but is in his unconscious state.[12] Believing Jellal to be Mystogan and hearing his crimes, she has internal conflicts of her and other people's perspective on Jellal as being good or evil, she receives five minutes to decide.[13] Natsu arrives at the scene with Charle only a moment too late as Jellal is revived. Wendy collapses not too soon by exhaustion from healing him.[14] Using Jellal's escape, Natsu takes the unconscious Wendy along with Charle to heal Erza.[15] They are intercepted by Racer, who is held off by Gray Fullbuster.[16] Wendy cries out of confusion Eventually Natsu rendezvous with Lucy Heartfilia and Hibiki Laytis. Natsu wakes Wendy up then begs her to save Erza. She gladly agrees and does so though still a little remorseful in reviving Jellal.[17] She, along with everyone else, suddenly notice a pillar of light erupt from the ground and instantly realize Nirvana has been activated.[18] After Nirvana was activated she is knocked out by Hibiki in order to prevent her from becoming evil (she blamed herself for resurrecting Jellal Fernandes) due to Nirvana's influence.[19]
Hibiki carries her as Lucy, Charle, Happy and he follows Natsu and Erza who are heading for Nirvana.[20] However they're stopped by Angel who attacks them, Hibiki is wounded and Lucy orders Charle to take Wendy away for fear of her getting recaptured.[21] It is later shown that Wendy and Charle hide themselves for the time being, while Lucy faces of agaisnt Angel. Wendy having regain consciousness though still feeling remorse for not being more useful. As Charle and she talk, Wendy reveals her acquaintance with Jellal and the rumors she heard about his Siegrain half. She however still believes Jellal is the kind young man she once knew (it was actually Mystogan).[22]
When Nirvana's second stage is activated, she and Charle are caught in when its legs appear from out of the ground. Charle carries away, and Wendy says they should head for Nirvana.[23][24] As they land to take a rest, Wendy realizes that Nirvana might be heading toward Cait Shelter.[25] With this, she goes to find Natsu and she cures him of poison and she uses a spell to temporarily cure his motion sickness.[26] Wendy still believes that its her fault that Nirvana got activated and thinks that Jellal might know something on how to stop it. So she tells the others that she has some clue and ran off.[27] Both Wendy and Charle are looking for Jellal while reassuring herself of Nirvana's destination to Cait Shelter, but Charle is too exhausted to fly, so they continue on foot.[28] Wendy and Charle are then seen rushing towards Erza and Jellal looking relieved while Zero is introduced as Brain's second persona, and easily defeats Natsu, Gray and Lucy.[29] Wendy destroys a lacrima Zero activates the Nirvana and when it seems like all was lost for Cait Shelter, the rest of the allied Mages manage to temporarily stop Cait Shelter from being destroyed. With that, Hibiki reveals a way to destroy the Nirvana that would require 6 Mages that could perform destructive Magic. They would need to destroy the Lacrima Crystals located in each leg of the Nirvana, and ultimately putting an end to everything. Natsu, Gray and Lucy rises up once again in order to save Cait Shelter.[30] Along with Erza, Jellal, and Ichiya Wanderlei Kotobuki they total the 6 Mages that would be needed.[31] Wendy happiness after Natsu and the others saved her guild Determined to destroy the lacrima crystals in each leg, Jellal asks Wendy if she could heal Natsu at any point in time during Natsu's fight with Zero. Wendy cannot use her power so excessively so Jellal secretly goes to where Natsu and Zero are fighting to give Natsu the Flame of Rebuke.[32][33][34][35] Because of this, Wendy goes in Jellal's place.[36] All 6 Mages manage to destroy the crystals and finally become victorious in stopping the Nirvana from destroying Cait Shelter and the rest of the world.[37] Wendy crying when Jellal is taken away As Nirvana is beginning to collapse, Wendy and Charle are found by Jura who brings them outside to safety. She finds both Natsu and Jellal safe (thanks to Hoteye), she rushes over to hug Natsu and thanks him for keeping his promise to protect her guild from Nirvana.[38] Unfortunately the celebration doesn't last long as the new Magic Council shows up taking both Hoteye and Jellal away, while Natsu and Wendy can only protest at Rahal's cruelty.[39][40] Wendy's Caitshelther mark vanishes Later after the group rest and recover, Wendy and the other girls start to dress up in Nirvit clothing and bonding. Roubaul then personally thanks the Light Team for stopping Nirvana to which Natsu and the Trimens try to celebrate with a party. However Cait Shelter doesn't join in and Roubaul reveals a shocking truth: Cait Shelter is not real. Horrified, Wendy tries to stop Roubaul's spirit from disappearing, but to no avail as her "Cait Shelter" mark disappears. Erza however comforts her and tells her to come with her to Fairy Tail.[41] Wendy becomes a member of Fairy Tail On the boat ride to Fairy Tail, she watches Natsu enjoying the benefits of transportation. But she tells him the effects wear off quickly and that repeated continued usage would weaken the effect and she expresses her excitement of coming to join Fairy Tail Guild.[42] Upon arriving at Fairy Tail, she quickly becomes popular since she is cute and a dragon slayer. The guild quickly welcome her and throw her a welcome party for her and Charle.[43]
Wendy's Edolas outfit A few days later after settling into Fairy Hills, she and the rest of the guild learn about Gildarts Clive and his return.[44] She then takes a liking to talking with Lucy and looks up to her alongside Erza and Mirajane. As they talk about the Dragons' disappearance, she scolds Charle for being mean towards Happy[45] and as she walks with her, she runs into Mystogan, where it is revealed that he is the "Jellal" that traveled with her 7 years ago. Their reunion is short-lived though as Mystogan warns her about Anima and its plot to kill all of Magnolia Town as he tries to save her only.[46][47][48] Wendy and Edolas Wendy As she is too late, only she and Natsu are left behind because of their Dragon Slayer powers, here Charle explains about Edolas, a parallel world.[49] Wendy then agrees with Natsu's plans to go to Edolas to save the guild. As she goes there, she becomes amazed as she sees how everyone is so different. She is then shocked when she sees the Edolas version of Lucy.[50] She quickly realizes that everyone is still nice despite being different. She even discovers that she has parallel counterpart.[51] The Edolas version of Wendy explains that the Kingdom in Edolas is after Fairy Tail, as they're considered as a Dark Guild.[52]
Later, she is both shocked and happy that Lucy Ashley is showing them the way to the capital.[53] While on their journey, Wendy and company purchase Magical weapons from a black market as she is unable to use her Dragon Slayer Magic in Edolas.[54] As the group is about to be arrested by Royal Soldiers, Wendy opens up a capsule that unleashes a giant tornado, carrying the group away and enabling them to hide from the soldiers. She is then stunned when the group spies the Earth Land Lucy being arrested in place of Lucy Ashley, but they all manage to escape, thanks to Lucy being able to use her keys.[55] Edolas Weapon Air Shatter Cannon Arriving at the town of Sikka, the group decides to spend the night. Wendy watched and warned Edolas Lucy that Natsu was there as she was going to reveal her body to him, which Edolas Lucy commented that she doesn't mind. The next day, after Edolas Lucy left, she commented how Earth Land Lucy quickly recovered from her fit of her counterpart, leaving with a book about Edolas' history.[56] As they hear the Royal Army will extract the Giant Lacrima in two days, Natsu decides to steal their airship, which left the group a bit speechless. That idea, however, was then rejected by the same person when Wendy reminded that she cannot perform Troia in Edolas. After watching Lucy failed to summon Loke, Wendy and Natsu decides to fight the Royal Army themselves with their weapon fully recharged. They were defeated in matter of moments, however. Almost captured, a four wheeler suddenly showed up and help the group to escape. The man then introduced himself to the group as Natsu the Fireball and takes them to the capital and leaves them.[57]
Later, Wendy is captured by Erza Knightwalker along with Natsu and Lucy.[58] She is then imprisoned, and is shocked to hear that Lucy is to be executed and refuses to believe that Charle and Happy have betrayed them.[59][60] After that, she and Natsu are hooked up to a stone with a dragon carved onto it, apparently to extract their Dragon Slayer Magic properties.[61] She is then rescued by Gray and Lucy, and tearfully tells them that the Dragon Slayer Magic is supposed to move the giant lacrima, and is meant to be a bomb to crash into Extalia fusing the Exceed's Magic to the Lacrima and creating endless Magic for Edolas.[62]
When Natsu shows up, the group decides to split into two. Wendy tells Charle that the two of them are going to stop the lacrima from hitting Extalia. Charle does not agree saying she doesn't care about the Exceed. Wendy just tells her that it doesn't matter who they are since they are still living creatures.[63] Wendy and Charle atacked by Exceeds Wendy and Charle attacked by Exceeds]]Wendy and Charle have arrived on Extalia, and try to persuade everyone to evacuate. However the Exceed, show off their stubbornness and self centered superiority by saying that the Queen will protect them, and that they are of higher class. However when Wendy mentions Nichiya being turned into a Lacrima, everyone gets angry and start throwing rocks at her, and then they start throwing rocks at Charle who is now a fallen. However Wendy, still tries to protect her and tells everyone that she is still one of them despite being a fallen.[64]
Then, Wendy did her best to try to push back the lacrima bomb along with the other Mages and all the Exceed. They managed to hold off the projectile until Mystogan revealed himself and sent all the trapped Mages home via Anima.[65] When the King revealed his Dorma Anim armored dragon, she, Natsu and Gajeel launched a unified assault that knocked the dragon off it's feet.[66] They then proclaimed that they would handle things while the other protected the cats and dealt with Knightwalker.[67] Wendy casts a spell on Natsu and Gajeel while they fight with the Dorma Anim, making them faster and another one to make them stronger, the king then fires some tracking missiles after Wendy but Natsu intercepts and destroys them. When the king is about to shoot again, Gajeel hits the missiles before launch, but gets hit by the tail of the Dragon Knight. A group of missiles is fired again, but these ones explode before Natsu can hit them. The king gets surprised when Natsu eats the fire of the explosions while Gajeel starts eating the tail of the Dorma. Suddenly the Dorma changes color and the king states that he is going to "Drain all the fighting spirits".[68] Be afraid...?Be very afraid...? The new form of the Dorma Anim grants it a huge increase in power, turning the tide in the king's favor.[69] Gajeel decides to try some different tactics, revealing they hadn't been using full power because they didn't know what could happen. All three of them attacked at once with their respective roars but it had almost no effect. The king proclaims victory, saying that although they have infinite Magic, once it runs out it takes awhile to recharge. Natsu gets up saying that he'll use tomorrow's Magic. Gajeel gets up too and pins the Dorma Anim's leg down to the ground, telling Natsu to attack and that he was the only one who could do it. Natsu tells Wendy to aim a roar at him to boost his speed and succeeds in piercing through the Dorma Anim.[70]
With Nadi telling Natsu, Gajeel, and her about Mystogan and Pantherlily's conversation, they decide to take the blame and be the evil that Mystogan initially planned to be. Showing on the streets of Edolas, the demonic servant 'Marvell' tried to scare off a young child. The child, however, didn't budge much until servant 'Redfox' helped behind her back, sending the child fleeing.[71]
S-Class Trial arc
Later on, on the welcoming party the guild was having for Lisanna, Wendy notice the change in Juvia's hairstyle, commenting on how sad she looked. She then witnessed another guild fight.[72] Days later she praised Charle for being able to control her future vision's power.[73] As she was walking outside the guild when the briefing ended, Charle commented that she has a bad feeling about the exam and told Wendy that she 'absolutely cannot get involved'. Wendy, being the unconfident girl that she is, answered that nobody would want her to be their partner.[74]
To her surprise, however, Mest showed up and by assuming a strange pose requested that she lend him her power much to Charle's chagrin.[75] He then explains that he wants to know more of the world of S class Mages and then lies in the icy river while Charlie tells Wendy not to trust such a weirdo but she goes to say she thinks he's a nice guy. This disagreement lead to a week of Wendy not speaking to Charle.[76] Wendy crying after the trial As the participants head towards the island, Wendy explains the the air around the area keeps the temperature high all year.[77] Shortly after the master arrives to explain the rules of the first trial. When the first trial started she and Mest were forced to wait because Freed used a rune on the boat, which prevents everyone from leaving for 5 min. As soon as the rune was released, despite believing to be at a disadvantage, she and Mest disappeared from the boat and arrive on the island before Lucy and Cana.[78][79] Later she stands over Mest as he awakens to find out that they lost to Gray and Loke and starts to cry thinking she wasn't strong enough to help.[80] Wendy is comforted by Mest; who asks her if she knows why the island is Fairy Tail's holy land and suggests they look around.[81]
Eventually Charle and Pantherlily arrive and immediately start interrogating Mest. Wendy pleads them to leave Mest alone but she is told to stay out of it. After Pantherlily states his reasons for Mest not being a Fairy Tail member, he teleports away and saves Wendy from an attack from one or the Seven Kin of Purgatory, Azuma. Mest gets excited and finally admits he isn't part of Fairy Tail, but the Magic Council, here to find dirt on Fairy Tail. Mest states there is a ship stationed here to end Fairy Tail, but Azuma destroyed it easily and prepares to battle Mest, Wendy, Pantherlily, and Charle.[82] Mest saves Wendy from Azuma attack As Pantherlily and Azuma battle, Wendy uses her Magic to boost Pantherlily's speed and fighting strength before persuading Mest to help them out. Though reluctant, Mest agrees and teleports them both directly behind Azuma while he is distracted. As Wendy prepares to launch a point-blank range Sky attack at Azuma, Azuma notes their attack as pathetic and defeats them all by summoning a massive column of explosive flame. Wendy lands on the ground, unconscious.[83] Natsu later arrives, shaking Wendy awake and angrily confronting Mest (Mest's memory control had worn off), but Wendy informs Natsu that Mest was from the Magic Council. Then, the group sees Caprico in the sky releasing numerous bubbles, which Grimoire Heart members emerge from to battle them.[84] As Natsu easily dispatches most of the members, Wendy notes that Mest has disappeared. Pantherlily then asks her if she can heal herself, to which she says she can't. She then looks on as Zancrow arrives and launches black flames at Natsu. As Natsu prepares to eat the flames, she warns him to watch out, since the flames gave her bad vibes, but to no avail, as it turns out that he cannot consume them.[85] She later gets burned by Zancrow's attack.[86]
Later on, after Natsu and Zancrow have finished battling, a tired Wendy is seen healing Natsu and Makarov, with the worried cats watching over. She is confused as to why her healing isn't working on Natsu, and Makarov tells her that Natsu's muffler has been tainted evil by Zeref and that she needs to revert it to heal him.[87]
Some time later, Natsu wakes up to Wendy and the cats' delight. As he thanks her for fixing his muffler and clothes, she replies that it's fine. Natsu then smells a familar person whom he encountered on Galuna Island and asks Wendy if she can smell the person too, to which she replies that there are too many different smells for her to tell. Natsu says that the person is close and walks off despite Wendy's protests.[88]
Wendy is later seen greeting Natsu and Lucy when they arrive back. When Doranbolt appears he tells her not to worry because he will help all of Fairy Tail get off of Tenrou Island, but she like all the others present refuse and states that the island is the sacred land of Fairy Tail, and Master Mavis's resting place and they can't let it be attacked. She then notices massive clouds forming in the distance, and that the air made it felt like the sky was coming down.[89]
Wendy is then seen when she along with Lucy and Natsu try to convince Doranbolt to stall the council while they defeat Grimoire Heart.[90] As Wendy and the others take cover, she watches Virgo giving Lucy new clothes asks if she could have some as well and receives a set since Virgo's symbol is shown on her sock. Later when Charle returns, she, along with Lucy and Natsu try to head towards their camp but met up with and get beaten in one blow by Grimoire Heart member Bluenote Stinger.[91]
Wendy is then lying on the ground and shocked at the strength of Bluenote.[92] Wendy is surprised when Cana Alberona arrives and fights Bluenote.[93] She sees Natsu using his Fire Dragon's Roar on the ground to attack Bluenote and give Cana an opening for her to cast Fairy Glitter. However, it fails and she watches in horror as Cana was overpowered by Bluenote and is seen relieved and happy when Gildarts arrives to stop him from killing her.[94] Later when Azuma destroyed the Great Tenrou Tree, Wendy is seen collapsing along with the other members of Fairy Tail.[95]
After Erza defeats Azuma, Wendy and the others return to the camp and discover their injured friends. Wendy tries to heal them using her magic but Charle and Happy disagree with the idea since she already exhausted her Magical Power and suggest that she rests for a while.[96]
Caster Magic User: Wendy is able to heal many people with relative ease.[97][98] Sky Dragon Slayer: Wendy is the Dragon Slayer of the Sky, which means that she has the same power as Natsu Dragneel and Gajeel Redfox, but with the ability to manipulate air. Her Magic allows her to heal people from the most serious of injuries, even those caused by a dragon, allowing her to use even a kiss to heal other people and can even counteract other Magic. Her Magic also deals support effect, such as increasing attack and speed.[99] As stated by Charle, Wendy can eat air, but can't heal as well in polluted areas.[100] Her Magic also allows her to sense air currents and she can use it to predict the weather.
Troia (トロイア Toroia): A type of healing Magic shaped in the form of a ball which Wendy used to heal Natsu's motion sickness.[101] It's effect is temporary as Natsu is seen to be affected by the boat travel after the effect was over. If she continuously uses it, the effects will become useless.
Sky Dragon's Roar (天龍の咆哮 Tenryū no Hōkō): An air version of Dragon's Roar. When using this attack, she breathes a hurricane-like blast at her target. It is unknown what its strength is, but it was powerful enough to destroy one of Nirvana's Lacrima crystals, so it could be very powerful. So far this is the only offensive ability she has shown.[102]
Vernier(瞬足 バニーア Banīa): A spell that speeds up the movement of the target, including the Caster itself, for a short period of time.[103] Incantation of this Magic, "fast wind that run the heaven....BANIA...."[104]
Arms (剛腕 アームズ Āmuzu): After reciting an enchantment, the Caster then targets a region of the body in which to increase damage output, such as the arms, for a short period of time. Incantation of this Magic, "power of the stout arms that tears heaven...ARM.."[105]
Arms x Vernier (剛腕 Ｘ 瞬足 Āmuzu x Banīa): Fused form of Arms and Vernier spells. This Magic is increases attack power of arms and speed of legs together.[106]
Juvia is a young woman with blue hair and a curvaceous figure. When she was first introduced she had long blue hair which was curled on the outside, and she wore a navy blue coat, a fur shawl with the Teru teru bōzu attached to it as well as a Russian Cossack hat. After she joined Fairy Tail, she cut her long hair and wore more revealing clothing.
However, when she heard Gray Surge had a crush on her Edolas counterpart, she began to wear her old outfit again, except for the Teru teru bōzu which she exchanged for a Fairy Tail emblem. Juvia's Fairy Tail Guild Stamp is above her left thigh. More Images can be found in Bonus Gallery.
Personality
Juvia's loneliness When first introduced, she displayed an emotionless face and seemed more secluded from everyone including members of the Phantom Lord Guild. After joining Fairy Tail, she develops a happy demeanor. She is obsessed with Gray Fullbuster and when Meredy threatened him she lost her normally calm demeanor and entered a somewhat satanic appearing state that even frightened Meredy and Erza.
Juvia often jumps to strange conclusions such as believing Lisanna teamed up with her just because she was after Gray. She cares deeply for Fairy Tail and its members. When she entered Fairy Tail, she isn't feared or hated for her past relationship with Phantom and she has a good relationship with the other members. She is also shy about her body, as she didn't like to shower with other girls. Juvia tends to refer to herself in third person, and often says "drip, drip, drop" due to the rain she used to bring with her.

Young JuviaJuvia making Teru Teru Bozu As a child, Juvia was constantly shunned, and she was very unhappy due to boys not liking her because of the rain that always accompanied her. She used to make a lot of Teru Teru Bozu dolls with the purpose of making the rain stop. She was in a relationship with Bora at one point in her life, though they broke up because she brought rain whenever they were out. Juvia and Bora Juvia at some point joined Phantom Lord and made up 1/4th of the Phantom Lord's elite group: Element 4. After meeting Gray Fullbuster Juvia falls in love with him, and due to a misunderstanding, viewed Lucy Heartfilia as her rival in love.
Synopsis
Phantom Lord arc
Juvia is first seen when she, along with Sol, met and captured Lucy Heartfilia by order of their Guild Master, Jose Porla.[1] Later, when Phantom Lord attacked again, Gray ran into her while trying to destroy the Phantom Mk 2. She instantly feels an attraction to Gray and decides to capture him for herself. In the process of using her "Water Lock", she accidentally opens Gray's wound from Lyon Bastia which in turn shocks her. After he escapes using his Ice Make, Juvia starts to believe the connection of love is true since she uses water and he uses ice.[2] Gray saves Juvia She asks Gray to leave while he can but Gray instead stays declaring that he'll defend his comrade Lucy even if it means his death. Juvia, of course, takes this the wrong way, even thinking Gray said other things instead, and believes Lucy is her rival for Gray. She declares that she'll never forgive Lucy causing her Water Magic to boil.[3] During the battle, Gray attempts to freeze her boiling water and as he does, he accidentally grabs her breast. She becomes surprised when he freaks out about it.[4] Juvia's bento made for Gray She then tries to win Gray over but he makes a remark about the rain around her and she freaks out, remembering her past problems with boys because of her rain. He then defeats her and stops her rain; finally seeing the clear sky for the first time, which she calls beautiful. She then passes out as Gray asked if she "wants to go another round with him".[5]
As Gray helps rebuild the guild, she starts to spy on him and leaves him lunches, even if they aren't exactly edible.[6]
Tower of Heaven arc
Gray inside Juvia's bodyJuvia as a slave of Vidaldus After their fight, her deep infatuation with Gray continues, secretly following him wherever he goes.[7] She mentions to Gray that she is now an independent Mage, after the Phantom Lord Guild disbanded, and she wishes to be a member of Fairy Tail.[8] When Simon attacks them at the casino, Juvia protects Gray by hiding him within her watery body.[9] She then joins Team Natsu in order to help Gray save Erza Scarlet.[10]
At the Tower of Heaven, she and Lucy are attacked by Vidaldus Taka of the Trinity Raven.[11] Juvia unwillingly becomes his slave, due to his Rock of Succubus Magic, which forces her to attack Lucy.[12]
However, Juvia's real consciousness manages to reach out to Lucy, describing her pain for her uncontrolled Magic.[13] Lucy stands up for Juvia, and both become friends and perform a Magic called Unison Raid, gaining them victory. Afterwards, she is invited to join Fairy Tail.[14]
Fighting Festival arc
Juvia as a member of Fairy Tail. After the tower is destroyed she officially becomes a member of Fairy Tail Guild with the Master Makarov's full blessing. She also changes her hairstyle and standard outfit. Her Fairy Tail stamp is located on her left thigh. She then revealed to her new friends that she invited Gajeel Redfox to join as well.[15]
During Laxus Dreyar's take over, Juvia is one of the eight girls competing for the "Miss Fairy Tail" title, however Evergreen turned her, along with the other seven contestants, into stone while inside the guild building.[16] After Erza defeats Evergreen she, along with the other girls, was released from Evergreen's stone gaze.[17] Juvia sacrificing herself for Cana's sake She and Cana Alberona later meet Freed Justine and get trapped in his rune enchantment, and can't escape unless one of them is rendered unable to fight.[18] Juvia did not want to hurt Cana so she headed to the Lacrima by herself where she got struck by its lightning which ultimately released them from his enchantment.[19] When Cana asked her why she did it, she said she did it because she wanted to be accepted and she loved Fairy Tail. Juvia and Gray on Fantasia Parade Cana cried that Juvia was always already a Mage of Fairy Tail, leaving Juvia glad as she loses consciousness.[20] After Freed's defeat she was carried by Elfman.[21]
As the Guild healed, Juvia was happy that she was going to see the parade, but Cana told her that she was going to take part in it.[22] During the Fantasia parade, she and Gray were on the same float as a king and queen, creating a castle of ice while water iced mist was used for atmosphere.[23]
After the Fantasia Festival, Juvia is rewarded the second place in the Miss Fairy Tail Contest.[24] She is next seen in the meeting about the dark guild talking about The Balam Alliance along with the others members of Fairy Tail.[25] She tells them that during her time in Phantom Lord, she and Gajeel took down many of the Oracion Seis smaller divisions.[26] She doesn’t take part in the Fairy Tail´s designated team because she is out on another mission with Gajeel.[27]
Edolas arc
Gray and Juvia Are Reunited... Upon Gray's return she wears a slightly different outfit, and openly states how she was worried about him and cries so much that her tears become two waterfalls. Because she is busy crying, she doesn't notice she is more than knee deep in water, and is nearly drowning three people including Gray.[28]
When the party starts, she asks Gray if he did anything unfaithful, and sits next to him to pour him drinks, while a few Guild members, especially Alzack Connell and Bisca Mulan watch the situation from behind, marveling at their budding relationship.[29] When news of Gildarts Clive's return reaches Fairy Tail she has no idea about what the excitement is about but Gray helps her understand.[30]
Moments before Anima, there was heavy rainfall over Magnolia, and when everyone was complaining about the weather, Juvia made it a point that she had nothing to do with it.[31] As Gray reminds her no one blamed her in the first place, she and other members of Fairy Tail were sucked by Anima and turned into a giant Lacrima Crystal to become a source of Magical power for the people of Edolas.[32] However, they were freed thanks to Mystogan, who returned everyone back to Earthland (excluding Gray Fullbuster, Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Wendy Marvell, Erza Scarlet, Gajeel Redfox, Charle, and Happy), through the Reverse Anima Process, and so she, like all the rest of the guild is unaware of the events of Edolas.
S-Class Trial arc
Juvia wants to "fight" too! As everyone celebrates Lisanna's return, Juvia is shown to have returned to her original look because Happy told her that in Edolas Gray was the one with the crush on her who has the original hairstyle.[33] When everyone start fighting as normal including Gray, an overly-excited Juvia starts to strip herself down before joining in only for Lucy to try and stop her.[34]
Later, during the S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial, Juvia was named, much to her surprise, as one of the candidates for the annual promotion to S-Class within Fairy Tail.[35] Juvia at first wished to withdraw from the trial because she couldn't be Gray's partner.[36] The recently returned Lisanna decided that she would become Juvia's partner, since she had a good relationship with Edolas Juvia, although Juvia naturally views her as another rival.[37]
As the participants head towards the island, Juvia is the only one unaffected by the heat (presumably because of herself being a water Mage and water having a high boiling point), and states the only hot thing to be Gray's naked body.[38] Shortly after the master arrives to explain the rules of the first trial.[39] Juvia and Lisanna had to wait on the boat because of Freed's runic enchantment that prevented everyone from leaving the boat for 5 minutes.[40] As soon as the rune dissipated, she used her watery form to swim the ocean easily alongside Lisanna in fish form.[41] Juvia can't beat you... Juvia and Lisanna selected route D and encounter Erza as their opponent. Juvia and Lisanna faced a difficult challenge against Erza and her Sea King Armor, which nullifies water attacks.[42] Despite putting up a tough fight, they still couldn't defeat Erza and were eliminated from the trial.[43]
As they waited, they learn that Elfman and Evergreen defeated Mirajane, by saying they were getting married to lower her guard and create an opening. When Mirajane imagined them getting married and having a kid, Juvia again jumps to another one of her misinterpreted conclusions, obviously about a kid between her and Gray.[44] After everyone wondered about what happened to the other eliminated conclusions, they know that Freed and Bickslow returned to the guild with Gildarts, but wonder what happened to Mest and Wendy. When Lisanna mentioned that she never met Mest in Edolas and asked if he joined in the last 2 years, everyone doesn't seem to remember. Juvia then volunteered to go look for them, but before she could leave, Erza said that she was going with her also. It is then shown that Juvia was actually planning to go cheer on Gray instead.[45] Juvia and Erza about to fight vs Meredy. Later Juvia was seen with Erza as they find a badly injured Gajeel, which Juvia express her concern about him. She then hears Yomazu, one of the members that Gajeel defeated, announce that the Seven Kin of Purgatory, the core and strongest members of Grimoire Heart, are coming to the island. Later she was seen with Erza who announce the S-Class Exam is now on hold.[46] When the guild members arrive on Tenrou Island, Erza and Juvia fend them off.[47] Then Meredy, one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory arrives claiming since she has encountered enemies, she has a new objective to exterminated them. Juvia is shocked at how one of the top members is merely just a kid, but Erza tells Juvia not to underestimate her because she feels weird Magic from her.[48] Juvia after hearing Meredy threaten Gray. Before they battle, Meredy tells them what Grimoire Heart plans to do with Zeref: to have him rule a world where non-Magic users cannot survive.[49] She is later seen in her battle with Erza against Meredy, when Meredy attacks them with an attack called Maguilty Sodom, that creates Magic swords that were sent flying towards the two. The attack managed to pierce Juvia's water body, which suprised Juvia, and caused Erza to question what type of Magic it was, Meredy simply stated that to eliminate the enemy was her mission.[50]
As the battle between the three continues Meredy begins to assault Juvia and states that she will be "13th place". Meredy's continual attacks completely overpowers Juvia, causing her to sink in her own water and the lake, prompting Erza to cover for her guild-mate. Erza then tells Juvia to step down because she will take care of her, but Meredy continues to attack the already-downed Juvia and replies that Erza will be "4th place". When questioned by Erza as to what her rankings where Meredy replied that those were the rankings she decided to kill them in.[51] Meredy then utilizes Maguilty Sodom and attacks Juvia again.
Erza then asks why she is after Juvia, to which Meredy replies that as Juvia is ranked 13, she is considered trash and therefore should be defeated easily first.[52] As Meredy goes on and continues explaining her rankings, Meredy reveals that Gray is first since he killed Ultear's mother, Ur. This sparks both Juvia's and Erza's attention. Meredy then tries to use Maguilty Sodom against Erza but the water that Juvia produced during the battle prior rises up knocks all of her blades away from her comrade.[53] Juvia is then seen finally standing back on her legs, with her head slightly tilted to the side, just as heavy rain begins to pour down all around them and the water around Juvia dancing wildly, and says she can't forgive Meredy and with an enraged look on her face. She then asks Meredy whose life she was going to take.[54] Juvia hugs Meredy. The battle between them then continues and Juvia goes on the offensive forcing Meredy back with ease, much to the suprise of Erza.[55] Juvia then tells Erza to leave Meredy to her, and Erza goes off to find Wendy and Gray, Meredy attempts to stop Erza but Juvia easily stops her. Meredy then tries to use Maguilty Ray but Juvia stops it easily with her water Magic.[56] Juvia and Meredy then converse briefly before Meredy uses her Sensory Link Magic to link Gray and Juvia.[57] Juvia then asks Meredy what she did, and Meredy explains that she linked the senses of her and Gray, much to Juvia's pleasure.[58] Until Meredy explains that Gray and Juvia share pain as well and she attacks Juvia and Gray feels the pain as well. Juvia then attacks Meredy with her Sierra spell which suprises Meredy, and forces Meredy to link herself to Juvia and Gray stating that no matter which one of them died Gray would still perish as well. This stops Juvia from attacking, and she stares at Meredy shocked and nervous.[59] Gray saves Juvia from Ultear Juvia and Meredy then converse briefly before Meredy tries to kill herself, and Juvia stops her by damaging her own leg. Juvia then tells Meredy that a Fairy Tail Mage would never take the life of someone, even an enemy, which sparks rage in Meredy. Juvia rushes towards Meredy as she tries to kill herself.[60] She then hugs her, and tells her to live. Meredy begins to cry, and they discontinue their fight.[61] When the tree got cuts down, like the other guild members, Juvia also felt her energy being taken away, only to be taken and put in a safe location by Meredy.
She was later seen lying on her back with Meredy sitting close to her. The two of them were later approached by Ultear who had Zeref upon her back; Ultear and Meredy then decide to evacuate, but Utear notices Juvia lying on the ground close to where they were. When Ultear asked who she was, Meredy answer was that she was a friend of Gray, and thus a Fairy Tail guild-mate. Ultear magically summons a sword and tries to kill the defenseless Juvia, drawing out a protest from Meredy, but was rescued in time by Gray. Juvia was then seen, still unconscious, smiling to herself, after Gray made the declaration that he wishes to live out the rest of his life with his comrades. Juvia chasing Meredy As Meredy attempts to escape with Zeref to the "escape point", Juvia is woken up by Gray's voice asking her to chase after Meredy. After getting the initial joy of being woken up by Gray's voice (and believing she and Gray spent the night together), she quickly dashes after Meredy. However, because of the injury on her thigh, she falls. Juvia claims that if it's Gray's orders, pain is nothing and then chases after Meredy while crawling.[62]
Caster Magic User: Juvia is a powerful Mage, displayed by the fact that she was able to overwhelm Meredy, a member of the Seven Kin of Purgatory by herself. She is an S-Class potential Mage, and a former member of the Elemental 4 of Phantom.
Water Magic: (水流 ウォータ- Wōtā) Juvia is a Caster Magic user and utilizes Water Magic. Her body has the ability to turn into water, and she is able to reform herself after taking damage. Her Magic's power is greatly amplified when she is an emotional state (for example, extreme anger).
Water Bubbles: Oxygen trapped into a bubble of water, allows you to breath underwater.
Water Cane (ウォーターカーネ 水流烈鞭 Wōtā Kāne): Juvia's body creates canes made of water to strike her opponent.
Water Dome (ウォータードーム Wōtā Dōmu): Juvia created it as a camouflage when they were going to Tower of Heaven. (Anime Only)
Water Jigsaw (ウォータージグソー 水流激鋸 Wōtā Jigusō): Juvia transforms part of her body into a swirling mass of Water Slicers that can slice her opponents like a saw.
Water Lock (ウォーターロック 水流拘束 Wōtā Rokku): Juvia creates a large ball of water, that can be used to attack and to trap her opponent, because her spell is made out of water it can be reformed if broken.
Water Nebula (ウォーターネブラ 水流昇霞 Wōtā Nebura): Juvia creates a double helix column of water that strikes her opponent and knocks him/her upwards.
Water Slicer (ウォータースライサー 水流斬破 Wōtā Suraisā): Blades of water come out of Juvia's body and slash her opponent. This technique is known to be able to slice through solid rock.
Sierra (シエラァ Shierā): When Juvia is in a state of rage, her water body turns into boiling water. She then can rush at her opponents, surround them in hot water, and burn them. The water is so hot that Gray Fullbuster was unable to freeze it at first.
Unison Raid: She possesses a unique Magic known as Unison Raid, that allowed her to fuse her Magic with Lucy's for a powerful attack. She also did this with Gray Fullbuster in an anime adaptation of the series that didn't appear in the manga. Their unison raid seemed to be powerful because their Magic was compatible. Gray and Juvia combine their Magic and thousands of needles of ice appear. Large ammounts of water shoot into the air and are immediately frozen, creating many powerful icicles capable of defeating all of Daphne's Lizardmen.

Gray Fullbuster
Main article: Gray Fullbuster Juvia and her Prince Charming When she first meets Gray Fullbuster, she quickly blushes and started to act more like a school girl. She often jumps to strange conclusions such as misinterpreting Gray saying having a heated battle as heated grappling or believing Lisanna teamed up with her just because she was after Gray. She is often seen next to Gray when ever they have free time and she tries whatever she can to impress him, in fact, most of the guild is interested in their relationship. However, when Gray's life is threatened, Juvia enters a truly frightening state, as seen when she entered a satanic state after hearing Meredy threaten Gray's life, causing both Meredy and Erza to cower in her presence. After leaving Phantom Lord and joining Fairy Tail she quickly loved the warm atmosphere and for being closer to Gray.
Lucy Heartfilia
Juvia and LucyMain article: Lucy Heartfilia
She at first hated Lucy Heartfilia, due to a misunderstanding where she thought Lucy was Gray's girlfriend. However, they manage to become friends when they fought together and seems to have forgotten the grudge. Though she still thinks Lucy and other females are after Gray, and plays pranks such as giving her hot chili soup instead of tea.
Gajeel Redfox

Juvia is the one who recommended Gajeel to talk to Makarov about joining Fairy Tail because she saw how lonely he was. She also encourages him to try to get alonge with everyone. Juvia stated that she has the best relationship with him out of everyone else in Fairy Tail.[63]
